Greer Trading Post brings new retail experience to Greer Station

After renovations that transformed a building on Trade Street, the Greer Trading Post is open for business.

The appearance of 217 Trade Street has changed dramatically over the course of the summer in downtown Greer. Owner Jessica Monroe saw the renovations as a way to contribute to the Greer community that has shown her great support and illustrates the potential of the downtown. On her decision to locate in Greer, Mrs. Monroe had this to say, “I’ve been involved with downtown Greer for a couple of years now, both through my accessories line and through helping other downtown merchants. I also run an animal rescue group, Saved by the Heart, that has been shown a tremendous amount of hospitality by the Greer community. These experiences have made Greer a place I want to be a part of.”

Greer Trading Post will open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday with extended hours on Friday, when the store will be open until 8:00 p.m.

Greer Trading Post will be having a grand opening event on Friday, September 13 and Saturday, September 14. Friday’s festivities will include an open house reception and a musical performance by Alex Hunnicutt. Saturday will be “meet the artist” day, giving patrons a chance to get to know the painters, crafters, and artisans that will be selling their works at Greer Trading Post. The shop will also start offering crafting classes in November where those interested can learn skills ranging from jewelry making and basket weaving.
