Huntington Solutions, a Greer, S.C.-based foam packaging maker, is expanding to a seventh location and has acquired Texas Foam of Bastrop. This move will expand Huntington’s manufacturing of temperature-sensitive packaging, the company said.
The deal comes as more and more products are sold via electronic commerce and shipped directly to homes.
The new location joins existing sites in South Carolina, Michigan, Ohio, Virginia and Mexico, where there are two operations.
“Texas Foam offers a wide variety of impressive and proven cold-chain packaging technologies that will augment our ability to meet the needs of our customers,” Huntington President Ed Flynn said in a statement. “Additionally, with a newfound presence in the Southwest, Texas Foam further expands Huntington’s geographic footprint, allowing our offering to reach an entirely new cohort of customers.”
Huntington Solutions, formerly known as Huntington Foam, has grown through a series of acquisitions since its own purchase by private equity firm Mill Point Capital in 2016.
At that time, the new investors signaled plans to expand the foam packaging company.
