The Southern Growl boasts 60 constantly rotating taps of craft beer, making it a destination for beer lovers.
New to the world of craft beer? No problem. Matt Bowes, owner of The Southern Growl, will gladly be your guide. He has a passion for beer that can quickly become infectious, whether you are enjoying a couple of pints or grabbing a growler on your way home. Fittingly enough, a certain beer-centric festival was his introduction to the Greer community.
“My wife and I have always wanted to come to the Carolinas; we discovered Greer during a visit from Ohio. We came out for Oktoberfest and I just fell in love with the downtown,” Bowes said. He chose Greer as the location for The Southern Growl because, “Greer needed something like this.” He chose the Peachtree Center specifically because “this location, and the traffic at this intersection, was perfect for what I was looking to do.”
The Southern Growl features more than just its collection of 60 taps. To compliment your pint, you can play a few rounds of shuffleboard or play a game of table top checkers or chess. There is also a small collection of other games to play. If you are looking to make a night of it, feel free to bring your own food. Bowes will also be adding a bottle selection and inviting food trucks to come serve.
The Southern Growl is located at 6 S. Buncombe Road. For more information on The Southern Growl visit their website or call (864) 655.7444. You can also find them on Facebook.
